Description: An interesting paquebot cover with the corner card of Campagne G.A.R.P. (Global Atmospheric Research Program), Operation G.A.T.E. (GARP Atlantic Tropical Experiment). The project ran for about 100 days during the summer of 1974. The cover is franked with Senegal Scott #C124, the 40 franc Raoul Follereau stamp from 1973 commemorating the Centennial of the Discovery of the Cause of Leprosy. The stamp is tied to the cover by a boxed Paquebot marking and a Dakar, Senegal postmark dated July 25, 1974. This cover measures 162mm x 114mm.
