1973 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon

Description: Up for purchase! Incredible and very scarce 1973 Volkswagen VW Great Westerner Bus (Van). These were very limited run and introduced in 1974 at the Seattle Washington State Fair Expo. This one is even more unique as it is one of only two known to have come with the full bench front seat. We took this in from a local estate acquisition a few months back and will note all the info we could obtain. The bus appears to have had lots of restoration work with emphasis on keeping it as close to original as possible. Odometer reads 74,639 but we are uncertain if it has rolled over. Engine is amazing and starts up and runs like a new car! Appears to be a 1.8L Type 4 Flat-Four engine with a 4 speed manual transmission. Dash & Interior is amazing with lots of original and restored parts. Straight body, no damage, dents, or scratches. The family did state that paint protection / coatings, and UV window treatment was added. Also added is a fully custom JL Audio sounds system with the install receipt in hand at $12,000 (nice addition). Also upgraded battery system, and Titanium exhaust system (original exhaust will be included). Tires are in brand new condition as well and correct style for the year. All emblems, vents, handles, latches, etc work perfectly. This thing is super fun to drive and can fit the Brady Bunch! This is the original color but pretty sure paint exterior has been redone. Undercarriage appears to be original and in very nice condition as well. Researching this bus compared to all the others we have found, this may be the finest and rarest one out there! We did read that there are around 65 of these that are known to be still running and only two of those having the full bench front seat. Ours has to be the finest and could be yours!
