Description: * A near-mint 1970s vintage Springbok "ROMANCE OF THE SQUARE" (A Mini Puzzle in a Mini Box) featuring art by Mel Butor, 7"x7" square miniature jigsaw puzzle, PZL7089. Made in the USA. * Mesmerizing op-art by the distinguished artist and professor Melvin F. Butor, who passed away quite recently (May 2024) at the age of 94. This is a truly beautiful puzzle and one of my personal favorites. * Springbok's puzzles are famous for their unique die-cuts, sturdy pieces and clear, richly colored graphics. Within a puzzle, no two pieces are the same! * This mini art puzzle comes in its original square box, with a short biography of the artist on the back. Box measures about 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" x 1-1/2". The completed puzzle is 7" by 7" square. * CONDITION: This is an authentic, pre-owned vintage item that is over 55 years old. It is 100% original and COMPLETE (no missing pieces) and is in overall NEAR-MINT (pieces) to EXCELLENT (box) vintage condition. * The pieces are like new, thick and glossy, showing virtually no wear. I saw NO bent, broken, torn, chewed, or replacement pieces. * The back of the puzzle is RED, with age-appropriate toning. Pieces fit together perfectly (a bit on the loose side for a Springbok) and the finished puzzle lays flat and smooth. * Box is excellent, pristine and sturdy, showing virtually no wear. There is NO tape. There is NO writing. NO split corners. Tiny bumps at two of the four lid corners. Inside of box is clean.
