Description: Finland, art medal, 80mm 370grs approx, in bronze, by Kauko Rasanen, in very fine condition as scanned, edge marked "KULTATEOLLISUUS". Hugo Standertskjöld was born into a Vananta mansion in Janakkala, a Finnish noble family. At the age of 20, he became an artillery officer and, quite quickly (1866), he was sent to Tulana's rifle factory in Russia where he was responsible for the technical fabrication of the factory. This station building was in a way already in the family, because her uncle Carl August Standertskjöld was both the leader and the renter of both Iževski and Tulan arms factories. On the recommendation of Ludvig Nobel, he moved to 1872 Iževski's rifle factory, which he led during the Russian-Turkish War, when the demand for rifles in Russia was at its peak. In 1880, Standertskjöld, a director, rented a factory for himself from the Russian state. Significant investments were made in the improvement of the mill's production. He even sold the Finnish Armed Forces to the requisite rifles at a low price. In addition to the acquisition of large personal property, he also created good relations with decision-makers with this bullet shop. Iževski's rifles were still waged in the Civil War as well as in the Winter and Continuation War. In 1884 Standertskjöld stopped working as a weaponist and resigned from the army. However, he continued in Russia with arms, as he had invested some of his accumulated wealth in the Tulano Ammunition Factory. As the plant was poorly maintained, Standertskjöld had to take the factory for self-care and thus remain in Russia for a long time. In financing the investments needed to modernize the mill and to increase the efficiency of production, he was assisted by low-priced loans granted by the Bank of Finland and the Nobel Corporation. With the help of his profitable profits and steadily rising profits, he succeeded in gaining the popularity of the decision-makers in arms and ammunition, which was a prerequisite for good and productive economic activity in the Russian Empire. Gradually, Colonel Standertskjöld, however, ceased his economic activity in Russia and transferred his great fortunes to Finland. He built a private palace at the North Esplanade 3 in the town house, and now is the highest court in the house. In 1883 he had bought Karlberg Manor from Hämeenlinna, from which he built a summer residence and from which the present Aulanko came. Standertskjöld spent the last time in his summer at Aulango in 1926 and sold Karlberg with all sides to the town of Hämeenlinna in the same year. After returning to Finland, Standertskjöld bought the Kaukas mills near Lappeenranta and changed it to a large pulp producing company that is part of the current UPM Group. In addition, he invested in the acquisition of huge forest areas to secure the mill's supply. For these woodland he also tried to get a smallholder population for whom he offered cheap conditions of settling. ### FAST EZ & HASSLE FREE TRANSACTIONS FROM PARIS TO TEXAS OR ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD ### Interests/Themes keywords : Art medal, decorative gift item, Art .
