Torchlight Protest Parade at NU: A group of Northwestern University students carry lighted torches and banners along Sheridan Road in Evanston Sunday night in a protest demonstration against the Vietnam War. The peaceful parade followed an anti-war rally on the university campus. The demonstrators later burned a toy doll, which they said symbolized the killing of Vietnamese children, in front of the home of Captain Hjalmer E. Swanson, the university's ROTC commander. No violence was reported. Northwestern University students, about 200, marching down Sheridan Road at Chicago bearing lighted torches, protesting the war in Vietnam. From here they marched to the home of Captain Swanson, ROTC Commander, and burned two baby dolls in front of his doorstep at 1910 Orrington in Evanston.
