This was part of a Shell promotion collecting game and they were handed out at random at Shell stations with a gas purchase. There were several coins that were instant winners or key coins that were redeemed for money prizes. This lot of 12 commons (non-redeemable tokens) all unique. There were a total of 24 coins. The rest were the winning coins in the set and those got redeemed in. Missing commons are John Paul Jones, Andrew Jackson, Wildrow Wilson, Thomas Edison, Wright Brothers and Albert Einstein. Danbury Mint printed these coins. Made out of aluminum. There are several minting error variations in these coins that are of note, but not especially valuable. This set does contain the Lewis & Clark(e) spelling error with an E at the end. Great for the token/coin collector or Shell Oil & Gas collectors.
