Description: This is an original GM deluxe steering wheel center cover/shroud with SS427 emblem. This deluxe style steering wheel was optional on all 1968 Chevrolet models except Corvette. The emblem however, was specific to the SS427 model in the Chevrolet fullsize(Impala) line and is a very rare and hard to find part. To my knowledge, this emblem has never been reproduced and is like hen's teeth to find. Don't miss this very rare chance to own a one year, one model only part from a limited production high performance model.This shroud and emblem are in good original condition as shown. These parts have been in cool, dry storage for decades. The emblem is in good original condition with excessive pitting or other damage. The attaching stud, alignment pin, and attaching nut are in very good shape. The shroud is also in very good condition with original black paint that shows some wear and nice satin chrome. The back side of the shroud is cast with the GM part number 9748912. This is the real deal SS427 emblem with shroud.
