Description: DESCRIPTIONOEM 1968-70 AMC 343 / 360 Air Cleaner. This assembly has been refinished to represent the factory OEM appearance as produced for the 68-70 models. It features the long rectangular snorkel inlet featuring a thermally regulated valve and pre-heater provision. The base is in good condition and retains the 90 degree front valve cover breather tube. The flange is 5 1/8" and accommodates both factory 2 and 4 barrel carburetors (Autolite 2100 & 4300 models), as well as modern iterations of Edelbrock AFB, select Holley carburetors. The exterior carries the American Motors blue version of the air cleaner service decal. An " AM Made In Canada" stamp has been added as a nice touch of authenticity and complements the decal nomenclature. An air cleaner adapter that will allow it to fit OEM Carter AFB carburetors is available if requested (these feature a 4 1/8 carb flange). The ridged top is specific to this assembly and is in good condition too. It is finished off with a new reproduction 343 Typhoon (68-69). The original dimpled wing nut well is clean and contours with a new heavy duty air filter. The assembly is completed with a period correct wing nut. This is a unique assembly that will return your AMC back to original appearances. Best of all, it is a genuine AMC part! APPLICATIONS This assembly is image period for the following 1968-70 343/360 CID models:AMCAMC Javelin SST, Rebel Raider, Rebel SST, Ambassador SST, Rambler Wagon *For the 1968-69 models, all of them featured the Carter AFB with the smaller 4 1/8" flange. Over the years, many owners have upgraded to the more modern iterations (i.e. Edelbrock AFB). This assembly will fit a variety of AMC engines - 290, 343, 360,& 401 with the larger flange carburetor. If you are using the original AFB, an air cleaner adapter will be required. While it was largely intended for the the Autolite 2 barrel models, the carburetor flange is 5 1/8" and will fit all modern 4 barrel carburetors. Note this style differs from the 390 and cowl induction bases by way of design and filter diameter. FITMENTThe assembly will fit factory 4 barrel carburetors (Autolite) with a 5 1/8" diameter flange, as well as most aftermarket models (i.e. Holley, Edelbrock, Demon, etc..) with the same flange size. If you have modified your carburetor or intake manifold, please inquire first prior to bidding to ensure fitment is correct.
