Description: Condition of the toy is best described as uneven. Given that the original cars are still in their factory bags, and there is no visible wear on the truck's wheels, the toy has to have never been played with when it was stored away 50+ years ago, but there is an unevenness to the condition of the toy's components. The cab is very new looking. I tested it with batteries, and the motor runs with a satisfying sound of step up gears, and the forward and reverse functions work. The mode that transfers power through the hitch works just fine, but when you shift the power to the wheels, they don't turn; you might be able to get it to work with some tinkering, though I caution that everything is closed with rivets rather than screws so it won't be easy to get into that gear box. The driver's side rear-view mirror is broken off. I discovered as I was cleaning the toy that the metallization on the silver parts rubs off very easily. The trailer is the worst piece. It came to me looking like it had been in a basement flood. I've cleaned it but it could use some additional detail cleaning. Every part of it that is made of steel is rusted. That includes the gear mechanism that transfers power from the truck hitch to automatically unload the cars. You may be able to loosen the pieces with liquid wrench or some similar product, but it looks pretty solidly fused. The plastic kick-stand or jack has a piece broken off of it. The wheels, like those of the cab, show no signs of play wear. The plastic cars are brand new in the original sealed factory bags. The car wheels are in their own separate bags. The axels are missing, so if you want to assemble the cars you will need to find some steel rod of the right diameter and cut it to size. Marx put some additional play value into these accessory parts; one has a hood that opens, and one has a removable fender. Truck will be professionally packed with protective packing materials and shipped with full insurance and signature confirmation. It is large and bulky and will be expensive to ship, and it is rare and valuable, so I will not risk damage in transit or theft from your front porch just to save youF a few dollars on shipping.
