Description: This week I'm offering a variety of cards from non-sport sets of the Fifties and Sixties. Monster and horror movies were big during that period, and various companies issued sets picturing monsters. These sets have remained immensely popular with collectors. A small company named Rosan issued a set of 132 cards in 1963, titled "Terror Monsters". These purple-bordered cards showcased photos taken from some of the cheezier "B" movies of the era. A very silly joke on the back rounded off the presentation, and the set was a huge hit with eight-year-olds of all ages. The cards are noted as crudely printed and cut, and are certainly among the most low-budget issues of their era. They were not issued with gum; rather, they were only available in the vending machines one could find outside candy stores and in arcades. The set remains fondly remembered and eagerly collected by non-sports collectors, in spite of the fact that they're pretty tough to find. This is card #131, featuring a photo from "The She Creature." The card shows corner wear, and possible evidence of some pencil writing near the number, but it's generally in acceptable shape (see scans for condition). All in all, an attractive example of a Sixties phenomenon. This would be a terrific addition to any collection! Shipping will be discounted for multiple purchases.
