Description: 1962 To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee-Paperback-Popular Library Edition-Pulitzer Prize Winner The story, told by Jean Louise Finch, takes place during 1933–1935 of the Great Depression in the fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama, the seat of Maycomb County. Nicknamed Scout, the narrator, who is six years old at the beginning of the book, lives with her older brother Jeremy, nicknamed Jem, and their widowed father Atticus, a middle-aged lawyer. They also have a black cook, Calpurnia, who has been with the family for many years and helps Atticus raise the two children. Published in March 1962. The first printing of the paperback version appears to have a few variants. The earliest issue we have encountered states "Over 80 Weeks on the Bestseller List", which is the book offered here. Highly produced issues from this same month and year were issued at 75 cents. This first printing also lacks the introduction by Gregory Peck that is seen in other issues that were obviously published later. In very good condition. Shelf wear/corner bends to covers, corners slightly bumped, minor wear to the spine. Clean pages, light age-toning and foxing. Binding tight. May show signs of minor shelf wear. All pages securely affixed. We ship the next business day. Please ask any questions/look at all pictures and description carefully before purchasing.
