This map was published in 1962 by the Humble Oil & Refining Company to promote its Esso brand. It is dated April 1962 in the legend, and the code number on the back cover is P1162. The cover artwork features "Happy" — Esso's Oil Drop Man, originally created by Danish artist Vilhelm Hansen.
