Description: Note: Please study the images carefully to determine the condition of this vintage photograph, as it may not be in perfect condition. It may contain wrinkles, cracks, and possibly even tears due to its age and how it was handled before it got to us. A scanner may interpret colors and contrast differently than human eyes will, so it is possible that the actual photograph may be slightly darker or lighter in person. This vintage photograph is offered for sale as a collectible item and conveys no transfer of copyright. 1961 Press Photo Residents of Cape Breton Island dig out from the snow storm This is an original press photo. Residents of Cape Breton Island in eastern Nova Scotia face a back-breaking task as they start to dig out from the crippling storm which struck the area over the weekend and has not yet blown out. Parts of the area are still isolated by drifts as high as 20 feet. A single lane has been cleared over the causeway linking the island with mainland Nova Scotia. Blocked roads are causing fuel shortage in some areas. Photo measures 10 x 8 inches. Photo is dated 3-29-1961.
