This vintage photograph is offered for sale as a collectible item and conveys no transfer of copyright. 1961 Press Photo Ann Cassill helps Michael Cariola with textured map in Seattle Ann Cassill, University of Washington co-ed, guided Michael Cariola's hand to a textured map she made for use of employes at the Lighthouse of the Blind, 131 Elliott Avenue W. By touching the map, which is of the Lighthouse vicinity, the blind may "read" the names of streets and the Seattle Transit System routes leading to and from the Lighthouse. Miss Cassill was aided in her project by Professor John C. Sherman of the university's cartography department. Miss Cassill is a member of Delta Gamma Sorority, 2012 E. 45th Street, which has aid to the blind as one of its projects, Cariola, 52, an employe of the Lighthouse, lives at 1958 Thorndyke Avenue.
