Description: This is a complete 3789812 P case posi unit from the Detroit Gear and Axle plant which is correct for a C1 corvette. It has a casting date of K 25 0 or November 25 1960 making it correct for a early 1961 Corvette. The original Dana posi-traction unit is dated 12/09/1960. The original gear ratio stamp is AN, this is for a 3:70 ratio, manual transmission car. The 2nd letter on the stamp is light and could very easily be mistaken for the very desirable AU or factory 4:56 ratio with a manual transmission & heavy duty brakes and suspension car. The gear set has been changed to a 4:88 ratio and looks to be in good shape, the car it was in was in the process of a complete rebuild before it was re-taken apart for a correct and original restoration instead of being built as a play toy.
