Description: This is SUCH a rare collectible find! 1960s era Fyrepel HEAVY canvas firefighters turnout coat; with heavy duty front buckles and branded Fyrepel snaps. Large snap front pockets with safety orange interior lined bottoms; canvas-tabbed interior cuffs as shown in pics; corduroy collar. Made in USA, in Newark Ohio. Men’s size 46-48. Fyrepel was a firefighters uniform company that was bought by Lakeland Industries in late 1986-early 1987. I have not been able to find anything online even remotely close to this style by Fyrepel of this age. Upon reaching out to the Lakeland Industries team to see if they possibly had any more detailed information; they concluded that they had personally never seen anything like this and that was most likely manufactured in the mid 1960s. Love when history and service collide! Snaps and buckles are all in perfect working order; this piece is very heavy and would be an amazing addition to any collection. Piece has obvious stains/discoloration from use; but only add to the overall character.
