Created by the Michael Zarebski Company of Cuernavaca Mexico, this unique piece of midcentury modern art is made from malachite stone upon a thick walnut base. Michael Zarebski founded Industrias S.A. in Cuernavaca Mexico in 1963, and these calendars were among the first items produced by his company. This calendar has remained in the same family since it was purchased brand new as a souvenir for a trip to Mexico in November 1967. Intricate malachite stone detail. Thick walnut slab mounting. Zarebski stone signature and the original paper sales label remain in place as shown. The calendar measures an impressive 20 1/2 inches high by 20 1/2 inches wide. Very heavy. Condition is near mint.
