Platts & Sons Cutlery Company ( Western Knife Company’s or Western Cutlery predecessor ) is a manufacturer of hunting knives founded by Charles Platts and his five sons in 1869. It changed its name to Western Knife Company in 1911 and moved to Boulder, Colorado. The company is probably best known for its "Bowie" style hunting knives. This knife has the blade forged from the fine carbon steel. The handle is double bolstered with double pins to sure fitting for durability, strength, & balance. Western Cutlery introduced F-Series knives with mixed aluminum/black fiber handle in the mid 1950s.
