Description: Handsome fold-out Berchtesgaden Salt Works pictorial map photo brochure. It opens to 8¼" x 16½" and includes a charming 2-panel pictorial map. The map shows part of the Bavarian Alps, with the Berchtesgaden coat of arms granted in 1962 and including the two keys of St. Peter and a salt bucket, a reference to salt mining historically as the main source of income in the region. The front and back covers have artwork showing the Whitsuntide Procession of the Miners of Berchtesgaden, and inside are photos of a tour of the salt mine, which has been in uninterrupted operation since 1517. Condition: This colorful brochure is in excellent condition, bright and clean, with no marks, rips, or tears. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. The brochure was published by the Bayerische Berg-, Hütten- und Salzwerke AG (BHS). It is undated and was printed circa mid-1960s. (BHS dropped the use of the crown in its logo in 1970.)
