Description: 1960's 3 IMAI Plastic Models Japan - Captain Magenta & Ocher & Concerto Angel Set 4, 5, and 6. Captain Scarlet Series B-1210 IMAI Captain MagentaB-1211 IMAI Captain OchreB-1212 IMAI Concerto Angel Made in Japan Boxes are in good condition. Each figure is unbuilt and includes instruction sheet. What I know to be missing:Concerto Angel - the jet is not in the boxCaptain Magenta - the car is not in the box - there is a bottom to a vehicle with 2 sets of wheels - may be from a different setCaptain Ochre - the car is in the box but missing a set of wheels These were purchased as is in a boxed lot. I have no further detail about the model kits. Concerto Angel (Destiny Angel)In Japan, where “Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons” was and still is very popular, the name of “Destiny Angel”, the only Angel not having a ‘musical’ codename, was transformed to “Concerto Angel” – the only Angel to have a ‘musical’ codename! This also explains why the Imai action figure produced in Japan was presented as ‘Concerto Angel’, and not ‘Destiny Angel’, and still could occasionally be found under that name, on auctions sites, like eBay. Captain OchreThe ‘Captain Scarlet annual’ of 1967 describes Richard Fraser as: ‘an inspiration and encouragement to all (the) Spectrum agents who work with him’, going on to say that he is ‘quick-witted, a brilliant conversationalist, and strongly prone to practical jokes’. He is also described as ‘very popular with the Angels as he’s always teasing and joking with them’. It concludes with the information that he still spends his spare time making model planes and is very proud of his collection of 400 items. Sources credit Ochre with often being in charge of personal protection. In the TV series, he guards President Olafson (‘Codename Europa’) and drives the VIP Transporter, ‘Yellow Fox’ (‘Dangerous Rendezvous’). This episode suggests that he is willing to put his life on the line in the course of his duty; the passenger section within the tanker body is virtually indestructible, the truck section is not. Captain MagentaAn interesting aspect for the world of fan fiction, is the teaming of Captain Magenta with Captain Ochre, as tension could be expected between the ex-leader of mob gang and the former cop, who nearly became supreme commander of the WGPC (as described in such stories as Chris Bishop’s "All the Colours of the Rainbow" and Sue Stanhope’s "Team Spirit"). The two would eventually become best friends, accomplices in misdeeds, and a team to be reckoned with, nearly as capable and inseparable as Captain Scarlet and Captain Blue. While it seems obvious that fanfic authors would find the idea of making a cop and a gangster into partners appealing, it also could be argued that the idea behind it all could have been inspired by the TV series as well, where the two of them appeared as a team on a few occasion, notably in the episode “Heart of New York”, and also in comic strips.
