Wikipedia writes: Susan Lee Sontag (January 16, 1933 – December 28, 2004) was an American writer, critic, and public intellectual . She mostly wrote essays, but also published novels; she published her first major work, the essay Notes on Camp, in 1964. Her best-known works include the critical works Against Interpretation (1966), On Photography (1977), Illness as Metaphor (1978) and Regarding the Pain of Others, as well as the fictional works The Way We Live Now (1986), The Volcano Lover (1992), and In America (1999). Sontag was active in writing and speaking about, or traveling to, areas of conflict, including during the Vietnam Conflict and the Siege of Sarajevo. She wrote extensively about literature, photography and media, culture, AIDS and illness, war, human rights and left-wing politics. Her essays and speeches drew controversy. With photographer Annie Leibovitz, Sontag maintained a close romantic relationship stretching from the later 1980s until her final years. Sontag and Leibovitz met in 1989, when both had already established notability in their careers. Leibovitz has suggested that Sontag mentored her and constructively criticized her work. During Sontag's lifetime, neither woman publicly disclosed whether the relationship was a friendship or romantic in nature. Robert Elliot Kahn (born December 23, 1938) is an American electrical engineer who, along with Vint Cerf, first proposed the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and the Internet Protocoal (IP) , the fundamental communication protocols at the heart of the Internet. In 2004, Kahn won the Turing Award with Vint Cerf for their work on TCP/IPThe book: The yearbook is in very good condition. It is 12 1/4" tall and 9.1/4" wide. Covers are light gray over boards, and there is an original protective plastic cover. The protective plastic cover has yellowed and has some tears. The front cover of the book states, "MICROCOSM 1960" in white letters and "1960" below. There are 224 pages. There is no writing in the book, nor are there any loose or missing pages. There are no binding issues.
