He had one All Star year in ‘61 hitting .252 for the year and playing in 128 games for the Cubs of Chicago. He was released by the Washington Senators in ‘65, ending his career as a player. He would later manage, and in ‘89 was named Manager of the year for the Chicago Cubs.
