Audubon Park Zoo - Slipper the seal, caught off the coast of West Africa by crew members of the Mississippi Shipping Co.'s Del Monte, was donated to the Audubon Park Zoo yesterday. The male seal, about three feet long, is fed above by William Fruchtnicht, zoo office manager. Slipper the seal gets fed at Audubon Zoo by William Fruchtnicht office manager at zoo. Seal was given zoo by members of the Del Monte who caught it off the West coast of Africa. This is a seal not a sea lion. It is not fur bearing. Slipper is about three feet long and weighs about forty pounds.Photo measures 7.25 x 9.25inches. Photo is dated 02-20-1958.
