Yukio Shimabara 島原 Yukio played from 1952-1962. His pitching recorder was 85-56 with a 2.38 career ERA and a 1.09 WHIP Futoshi Nakanishi 中西 is in the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame He was a player from 1952-1969. Nakanishi began playing baseball in junior high school. At the time, his team did not have any baseball equipment. The group practiced side by side with the American soldiers stationed in Japan after World War II. Nakanishi and his teammates would pick up and practice with baseballs military personnel had left behind. Nakanishi played in the Japanese High School Baseball Championship three times. He had planned to attend Waseda University, but his parents negotiated Nakanishi's first contract with the Nishitetsu Lions without his consent. He hit 12 home runs in his rookie season and subsequently decided to hone his power stroke. Due to his small build, Nakanishi had to twist and contort his body during at bats to generate power. He came close to the Triple Crown in four seasons, (1953, 1955, 1956, 1958) but never won. Nakanishi was spiked during the 1959 season, and suffered tendonitis in his wrist in 1960. Both injuries sapped his effectiveness as a player and he became the Lions' manager in 1962, playing the field occasionally until 1969. Kazuhisa Inao 稲尾 和久 Is in the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame Inao was a Japanese professional baseball pitcher. In 1957, he won 20 consecutive games. In 1958 Japan Series, he pitched six games and won 4 consecutive games after his team lost 3 games. He even hit a home run in fifth game of Japan Series. He was the Pacific League's Most Valuable Player in 1957 and 1958. He had 42 wins in 1961. Fans called his great success "God, Buddha, Inao". In 1964, he injured his shoulder, and in 1965 came back to full-time pitching, mainly in relief. He retired as a player in 1969, and went on to manage the Nishitetsu Lions from 1970 to 1974. medium heavy wear collector grade 1-13/16" by 3" Great for the 'type card collector', or Japanese Card collector.... guaranteed authentic and unaltered. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My BLOCKED BIDDER List...meobsol-3
