Description: I have for sale a press medal from the 1956 Republican National convention that was held in San Francisco, California. The incumbent president Dwight D. Eisenhower was nominated to run as the republican presidential candidate and went on to win a second term in the general election. This medal has three parts. The top pin back piece reads PRESS and above it shows an elephant holding a flag. In the center there is a white ribbon. The bottom piece in the center shows the conjoined bust of Abraham Lincoln & Dwight D. Eisenhower. Around the center bust it reads, SAN FRANCISCO - REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CENTENNIAL - CONVENTION - 1956. The medal is 4 1/4 inches long and the top piece is 1 3/4 inches wide. The medal parts look to be bronze and they look to be in original condition, except there is a dark area behind Eisenhower bust. There is a second medal attached to the white ribbon medal. It is attached by a safety pin and has no top bar & also looks to be in original condition. The medals were made by Crafters Inc of Chicago. Please see over 950 more collectibles for sale in my EBAY STORE at TE Collectables. (19,295 ERD)
