I bought this Corvette Cookie Jar back in the 80's when I owned a 56 Corvette(picture attached). My understanding after some research, is that these jars were made in the USA in 1986(see stamp on bottom). They are hand painted, the colors are bright with chromium trim, not aluminum paint and not made in China. Compare the chrome trim on this model as compared to others newer and not of the same vintage. I have taken several pictures to show it's condition. It has always been displayed with my other collectibles in a glass enclosed cabinet. As it is a fine collectible, it was displayed only and never had cookies inside. The box is not available.
