Description: This week I'm offering a number of old non-sport cards from various vintage sets. In 1956, Gum Products briefly challenged Topps and Bowman with this interesting 100-card set, devoted to - adventure. An interesting mix of sports and non-sports subject matter, featuring beautiful color paintings, the set mixed boxing, track and field, sailing and other sports with war, pop culture and anything that could possibly be called adventurous. It's a unique set that's avidly collected today. The cards are printed on heavy card stock, and have a tendency to be off-center. Some have also yellowed a bit. Still, the ones I have available aren't bad for sixty year-old cards. Here I have card #31 from the boxing sub-set, "Canadian Tommy Burns"; condition is very nice except for a vertical crease (see scans for condition).
