Description: This wonderful porcelain Wedgwood punch bowl or monteith bowl has a deeply scalloped rim with sepia images on both sides and on the interior base, with a description on the base which reads as follows “ Williamsburg Punch Bowl, This Punch Bowl or Monteith commemorates two of the most historic buildings in Williamsburg, Virginia. The sepia side engravings, copied from a 1740 copperplate, show the Wren Building of the College of William and Mary and the Governor’s Palace. Inside the bowl is an engraving of the arms of Colonial Virginia, Williamsburg Restoration, First Edition 1955, and Wedgwood of Etruria & Barlaston, Made In England”. The bowl is in excellent condition, with minimal wear from age and use. Dimensions: 5 ⅞” h x 13” w x 8” d. This bowl is from the estate of the former president of The College of William and Mary Thomas Ashley Graves, Jr. and includes a presentation card to him.
