Description: This is for an original program from the 1954 World Cup games that were played in six different stadiums in Switzerland. This program is from the opening match of the tournament which would be played between Group 1 opponents Brazil and Mexico at Charmilles Stadium in Geneva Switzerland. Goals by Balthazar, Didi, Julinho along with 2 by Pinga would help Brazil to an easy 5-0 win over Mexico. Brazil would advance to the knockout round but would lose to eventual runner up Hungary by a 4-2 score. Only 13,470 would attend this opening match, making it one of the rarest programs from the Championship, along with it being the first played in the tournament. The program has been graded 7.5 by CGC and is probably one of the nicest and cleanest examples you could find. A great investment for the soccer enthusiast as the sport continues to grow around the world. Check out the scans and email with any questions.
