Description: 1953 Press Photo Crewmen install protective armor on railroad engine in Tunisia This is an original press photo. The Sfaz-Gafsa Railroad Company, which runs through wild desert country in Southern Tunisia, has taken drastic means to protect its trainmen from attacks by rebel bands. Besides equipping the trainmen with automatic rifles to drive off attacking bands, the railroad has equipped its trains with armor playing designed to protect the crew. One train, fitted with the armor which protects the cab, leaving only enough space for safe vision, gets a finishing up paint job from two of the crewmen. Photo measures 7 x 9.25 inches. Photo is dated 01-05-1953. Part Number: mjx58065 Please look at the images below carefully to determine the condition of this vintage photograph, as it may not be in perfect condition.
