PACKAGING HAS BEEN OPENED, BUT PARTS ARE STILL LIKE NEW / NEVER INSTALLED OR USED...SAVE $$$This kit includes a pedal assembly designed for 1953 1954 1955 1956 Ford trucks. The pedal is designed to bolt to the original spot on the frame underneath the floor. Also included is a high quality 7" dual booster and master cylinder combo & the valves necessary for a disc disc setup. This kit is ready for disc/disc applications. The 7” dual power booster offers 27% better stopping power over the 7” single booster for improved stopping, performance and safety. The Corvette style master cylinder has a 1" bore and four ports (two on each side) for easier installation. Includes plugs for the ports you don't use. This also includes a complete Disc/Disc proportioning and residual valve kit. Residual valves are necessary when using a master cylinder below the brake calipers to prevent fluid bleed-back. This includes a brand new GM style Disc/Disc self-adjusting proportioning valve. This valve has a zinc coated finish. This valve is also called a combination valve, as it performs all of the necessary valving functions with a disc brake conversion. These functions include the following: Proportioning: As more force is applied to the brakes and the car begins to lean forward, less braking force is needed in the rear. This valve decreases the pressure to the rear, preventing lock up. Metering: Metering is used in the front disk brake portion in the disc/drum system to delay application of the front discs allowing the slower reacting drum brakes to catch up. This provides rear stability on wet surfaces and helps prevent front pad wear. There is no metering function with the disc/disc setup. Residual Pressure: Drum Brakes require residual pressure of 10 lbs. to be held in the line. This pressure keeps the brake shoes close to the drums giving you a more firm pedal feel. The disc/disc setup does not require this pressure. System Failure Switch: This valve has a system failure switch that will alert you when half of your braking system is not working properly. Also included is two 2 pound residual valves for the front disc/ rear disc application. These residuals prevent loss of brake pressure. They run in-line and act as a one way check valve and prevent fluid from bleeding back to the master cylinder. These valves are a MUST when mounting your master cylinder under the floor.
