Averell Harriman (right) is shown as he greeted British Lord Privy Seal Richard Stokes on the latter's arrival in Teheran for talks with Iranian officials on Iran's oil dispute with Britain. Stokes and Harriman toured the paralyzed oil port of Abadan today under protection of guards with bayonets. The Iranian government imposed extreme precautions to prevent any anti-American or anti-British outbreaks as negotiations were being resumed. Stokes, head of the British mission and Mrs. Harriman flew into Abadan for a one day tour before British and Iranian negotiators open discussions at a formal meeting in Teheran tomorrow night.Photo measures 7.25 x 9.25inches.
