Description: Narciso Alfredo de Moraes (1892-1977) was the son of the watercolorist Alfredo Januário de Moraes (Lisbon, 18th September 1872, 6th February 1971), who had studied at the School of Fine Arts, had been the chief lithographer at the National Press, where he worked with Roque Gameiro (1864-1935), and one of the founders of the National Society of Fine Arts, where he taught for free for 20 years, leaving an exceptional body of work as a watercolorist, nationally and internationally recognized, and particularly as an illustrator and cartoonist.Painting Surface: Paper.Condition Report: Small sings of foxing and stains on the paintings. Some foxing and stains on the passe-partouts. Some imperfections on the frames. The paper on the back of the frames is missing. Age weathered surfaces. Condition is appropriate for age and use.
