Description: Up for sale is a watercolor my father did "en plein air" in the 1950s but kept in his scrapbook of favorite paintings I just unearthed yesterday. I believe this is Maine, he worked in a summer camp and would paint on his day's off. Very vintage seagulls. He caught a lovely sunrise. Not sure what lighthouse this was. The tape remnants are from him taping this to a board so the paper would dry flat, taught. The painting is ~10x12" with the paper ~1/2" larger all around that would have been under the tape. This is definitely an early style of his, very loose rendering. Please search Stuart Jones in our store if you'd like to see more of his paintings from around the world.
