This card is from one of the finest sets manufactured by The Card Memorabilia Associates, Limited (TCMA) over its nearly two decades of producing contemporary, commemorative and reprint baseball card sets. Styled after the classic 1953 Bowman baseball card set, this card features a full-color photograph on the front and a nice balance of player vital and baseball statistics plus biographical information on the back. About the trust: "Coaches Jake Pitler, Joe Becker and Billy Herman joined manager Walter Alston in 1955 and enjoyed Brooklyn's first world championship that same year. The staff remained intact until 1958 when the Dodgers moved to L.A. During their playing days, Pitler was a utility infielder for the 1917-18 Pirates; Becker served as as part-time catcher for the 1936-37 Indians; while Herman had a 15-year career, mainly with the Cubs and Dodgers, that would earn him a place in baseball's Hall of Fame. *Alston managed the Dodgers to 7 pennants from 1954-76." *Walter Alston was, subsequent to the issuance of this card, elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame as a manager by the Committee on Veterans in 1983.
