Description: Featured is a later linen 1950 postcard (dated by the # in stamp box) depicting the De Soto Beach Hotel at Tybee Island, Savannah Beach, Georgia. Post World War II, establishments flew the American Flag and the De Soto followed suit, flying the Colors from a Nautical flagpole. The De Soto is still Tybee Island's only true beachfront hotel. I remember Shagging away Sunday afternoons on the deck during the 1980-90s. No better place to be! * This postcard is in pristine, essentially "new" Mint condition. It is one of the Scarcer De Soto PCs (due to its late printing in the "linen" scheme of things) and certainly scarce in such condition. It is direct from the Curt Teich Archives. The card has been in our possession for approximately 15+ years ... long before the Curteich digitally archived images found their permanent home with The Newberry Institute. At the time of our acquisition, the Lake County Discovery Museum in IL was the custodian of the company's records, having served in that capacity since 1982.
