Description: Up for auction is a 1940s Pan Am Martini / Manhattan Glass which stands 4 ¼ inches tall with a blue band around the bowl, (2 5/8 in diameter) and a base platform diameter of 2.5 inches. The ‘PAA’ markings and blue band are in mint condition. The final photo dates from 1949. The man on the right is drinking from this style glass in the lower deck lounge of a Boeing B-377‘Stratocruiser.’ This glass was part ofa series of 3 that included a ‘highball’ and ‘rock’ glass. The couple in the rear left of the lounge are drinking from the highball style glass. (HIGHBALL & ROCK GLASS ARE REFERENCED FOR CONTEXT ONLY AND ARE NOT INCLUDED WITH THIS AUCTION).
