Description: 1948 Vintage Photo by ACME wearing the new exposure suit, Royal Air Force Flight Lt. F. Latham has no difficulty doing active work. He is carrying the Royal Air Force (RAF) rubber dinghy during tests at the RAF Experimental Station at Farnborough. Inflatable exposure suits for downed aircrews are being tested at Farnborough, Hants, and may soon become standard equipment with Royal Air Force crews. The exposure suit, which weighs only 2 pounds, 12.25 ounces when folded, consists of 2 layers of rubber, and rolls up into a small bundle that fits into the pocket in the collar of the Mae West. It is inflated by the wearer after being put on, and gives air insulation against cold and damp, which are the biggest trials for airmen forced down at sea. Photo measures approximately 7 X 8.75 inches. Part number: AAA13349 THERE ARE A FEW MINOR CREASE MARKINGS. ALL items are more than likely going to have condition wear (small creases, corner wear, etc...) due to age and touching. These photos were meant to be handled and were by the newspapers and other media outlets before we purchased them. THERE ARE SMALL SMUDGES THAT SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE REMOVED. SOMETIMES THE MARKINGS ON THE BACK CAN BE SEEN THROUGH ON THE FRONT. IT JUST DEPENDS ON THE THICKNESS OF THE PHOTO. EVERYTHING SHOWN ON FRONT/BACK OF THE ITEM IN THE LISTING IS INCLUDED. Please take a look at the front/back photos. THIS IS AN ACTUAL PHOTO NOT SCANS!! IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE SEND US A MESSAGE!!
