The coverage area includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. The map also shows Long Island and the ferry service to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket from New Bedford and Cape Cod. There are inset plans of Boston, New Haven, and Providence, as well as a colorful pictorial map of New England. The front cover artwork shows Harkness Tower on the campus of Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. This map of New England was distributed by the Colonial Beacon Oil Company in 1946 to promote its Esso brand, and it is dated in the legend Condition: This map is in very good, lightly used condition, bright and clean, with no marks or writing.
