Description: This is a vintage cane that looks like it was a giveaway at the 12th annual New Jersey Licensed Beverage Association Convention. In 2023, the NJLBA held their 90th convention, so that would make this cane 78 years old and dating to the 1945 and the conclusion of WWII. I imagine this belonging to a veteran who came back from the war to start thier post war life (but who knows). This cane was compliments of CAMDEN BEER & LORD CAMDEN ALE. Camden Beer has a storied history. Starts in 1904, during the 1920s the brewery came under the control of Philadelphia based bootlegger Mickey Duffy, and was a major source of revenue for him until his murder in 1931. Another crime figure, Edgar “Blondy” Wallace, had an interest in the brewery but apparently was out of the picture by the fall of 1934. IN the 1940s, Camden Beer was sold all over including NyC including Greenwich village. So this in no ordinary cane. It appeals to not only cane collectors, but also beer and alcohol collectors, New Jersey/camden history buffs and potentially people with an interest in mafia. This is the only one I have ever seen and would make a truly unique addition, to your collection.
