Description: 1944 Vintage Press Photo by ACME.A member of the British Home Guard mans one of the rocket projectors that have been sending up a terrific attack barrage at enemy raiders passing overhead, strengthening Great Britain's anti-aircraft defenses considerably. Roaring like a subway train as they zoom into the sky, and bursting in bright flashes when they meet their targets, the rockets have accounted for many downed enemy aircraft. The projectors, which are electrically controlled, are manned only by Home Guardsmen, thus allowing regular soldiers to take up active service on the fighting fronts. Photo is Dated: March 28, 1944. THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC PHOTO, NOT A COPY OR SCANS. Photo Measures Approximately: 4.5 x 8.5 Inches. THERE ARE FEW MINOR CREASE MARKINGS.
