1943 “My Own Yarn About School” Vintage Illustrated Scrapbook, CR Gibson & Co

Description: This is an interesting time capsule dated from 1943, "My Own Yarn About School", an illustrated scrapbook with color reproductions of charming watercolor illustrations and lots of blank space / pages for a teenager in the 1940's to fill with their own content. It is mostly blank, unfilled, with a handfull of names written in cursive on some of the lists. There is no font or typeface- all the words are drawn in cursive as rope or string, and appear to vaguely follow the sewing theme depicted on the cover- (more or less) my own yarn about school, My string of teachers, Roll Call, Braintwisters, Line of Jive, Sports Line-up etc. The illustrations are very well done, there are some really cool pages, unfortunately the artist gets no credit- just C.R. Gibson of C.R. Gibson & Company credited on the first page, otherwise the internet is not divulging any more information about this book, as far as I can tell. The book is signed by someone named Bobby Minster- I'm guessing Bobby was a girl, maybe Roberta. You can see she wrote some names down but otherwise didnt spend much time with this book. Half of the book is just blank pages intended for scrapbooking but it was all left blank. There is evidence that at least 1 page was torn out at some point- see pics. The book is bound between 2 hardcovers which are tied together by a blue string. The string passes through 2 metal eyelets / rivets which have come loose. The dark blue cloth covering the hard cardboard covers almost feels like vinyl or wallpaper and it has texture in the pattern of vertical lines. the image on the cover appears to have been screenprinted or possibly stamped in silver ink. The book is in great condition considering its age. The string binding is a little loose, it could maybe be untied and pulled a bit tighter, but I didnt want to possibly damage it. The first page is blank and then there are 17 pages with illustrations and 13 blank pages- Ships with insurance and signature confirmation-
