Description: For your consideration, a beautiful 1942 yearbook from Santa Barbara State College in Santa Barbara, California, called La Reata. The school was taken over by the University Of California system in 1944, two years later, and renamed University Of California, Santa Barbara, or UCSB for short. The yearbook's cover is a textured chocolate brown with La Cumbre 1942 in rust letters using a gorgeous art deco font. It has the usual shelf wear. Inside is in fantastic condition, bearing very little of the usual discoloration. The pages are free of any signatures or entries. The forward is very moving, dedicated to the servicemen fighting in the (then) current war against "totalitarian nations". Also listed on the first page are the names of two soldiers "killed in the service of their country".Please ask any and all questions, and check out my other listings for more strange and beautiful pieces. Thanks for looking!
