Description: Note: Please study the images carefully to determine the condition of this vintage photograph, as it may not be in perfect condition. It may contain wrinkles, cracks, and possibly even tears due to its age and how it was handled before it got to us. A scanner may interpret colors and contrast differently than human eyes will, so it is possible that the actual photograph may be slightly darker or lighter in person. This vintage photograph is offered for sale as a collectible item and conveys no transfer of copyright. 1941 Press Photo Colonel's Aide, Driver Look for Enemy Lookouts from Command Car This is an original press photo. A typical day for the colonel's aide - Private Elston R. Law is an aide to Colonel E.O. Thompson, commanding officer of the 141st Infantry, 36th Division. Private Law was drafted into the Army from Longview, Texas where he had practiced law for two years after getting his degree at the University of Texas. In an effort to portray a typical field day in the life of a commanding officer's aide, a photographer has gone along with Private Law on maneuvers. Pictures were made under actual combat conditions, with no effort to include other than ordinary daily duties and reactions of a colonel's aide. Pictured above, Private Law and Private Tom Miller, right, the colonel's driver, are in the command car peering into the early morn in an attempt to spot enemy lookouts. Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches. Photo is dated 08-27-1941. PHOTO FRONT PHOTO BACK Historic Images Part Number: nom14038 Sell Smarter with Kyozou.Inventory and Ecommerce Management
