Description: OFFICIAL VINTAGE SCORECARD PROGRAM FROM JOE DIMAGGIO'S RECORD HITTING STREAK – THIS CARD WAS SOLD ON 7/13/1941 FOR THE 52nd and 53rd CONSECUTIVE GAMES OF THE HISTORIC STREAK, PLAYED IN A DOUBLEHEADER AT COMISKEY PARK IN CHICAGO BY THE NEW YORK YANKEES AND CHICAGO WHITE SOX. YANKEES SWEPT THE DH FOR NEW YORK'S 13th and 14th CONSECUTIVE WIN. Rosters and pre-printed lineups on this score card helped me pinpoint the date on which this game was purchased. The fact Ben Chapman's name is on the White Sox roster means this card could not have been printed and sold for a New York-Chicago series any earlier than this one that began with a July 13th doubleheader at Comiskey Park in Chicago. Meanwhile, both the Yankee and White Sox starting lineups on this card are identical to those shown for the first game of the July 13, 1941 doubleheader, as shown on this BBref link: https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHA/CHA194107131.shtml Note that Bill Dickey appears in the starting lineup for Game One of this doubleheader, but was later replaced by Buddy Rosar not only in this game and for the rest of this series. This opener saw the Yanks' Spud Chandler defeat Sox' Hall of Famer Ted Lyons, with DiMaggio going 3-for-4. The doubleheader on this date was swept by the Yanks, who ended the day with a 14-game winning streak and with Joe D's record run safe at 53-straight. The Yankees win streak ended the following day with a White Sox 7-1 victory behind future Sox GM Johnny Rigney as DiMaggio went 1-for-3. The record streak would end a few days later at Municipal Stadium in Cleveland. DiMaggio's famous 56-straight remains perhaps baseball's greatest individual record. This card also has a nice two-color full page Pabst Blue Ribbon ad on the back. On this two-color job, printing the Pabst logo in blue ink apparently took precedence over running the front cover Coca-Cola logo in Coke's traditional red.
