Description: For your consideration is a hard-to-find World War Two era version of the Parker Brothers board game, ACROSS THE CONTINENT. What makes this edition unique is that Parker Brothers stopped using the typical painted metal Tootsietoy trains and replaced them with composition pieces of the same design. I can't tell what the composite consists of but Bruce Whitehill, "The Big Game Hunter" notes that "they can include combinations of natural substances like wood fibers, resins, and fillers, or synthetic materials like polymers and fiberglass."
