Description: This listing is for a Gorgeous 1940s to Early 1950s 2-Toned Embroidered Bullfight Mexican Tourist Jacket Size XS. This is an iconic Mexican jacket that was made for the tourists visiting Mexico in the 1940s to the 1960s. It is a beautiful 2-toned red and white wool felt with the most lavish embroidery of all of the jackets that I own depicting a Mexican bullfight and its spectators. The embroiderer was a Master to have the patience to create this very intricate scene and embroider the associated tiny stitches. It has bluish gray contrasting stitching around the collar, bottom, cuffs, pockets, and down the front. Because of the slightly puffed sleeves at the shoulders, I believe it was made either in the late 1940s or very early 1950s. It has always been the favorite jacket of my collection. The only reason I am selling this particular jacket is because it is too small for me. I considered having it framed as an elaborate folkart piece, but it was meant to be worn and displayed to the outside world. It is an incredible work of love and art, and anyone wearing it will be constantly stopped by admirers. Although this jacket is definitely a piece that belongs in a museum, it does have some very minor faults that I would like to point out. There is a very light bit of red color bleed from the pocket corners onto the white wool. Also, there are a couple of small, light spots at the very bottom of the jacket on the right side, and a tiny repair on the front. There are no holes or missing threads. I have priced it to take into account these minor issues. There is so much going on with this jacket the no one will see these minor flaws. This particular jacket is very rare and is museum quality for those who collect these jackets. Any dark areas are shadows from photographing. These jackets, meant to be worn open, always look great with jeans, skirts, and especially, with the vintage Mexican circle skirts. I have a collection of over 140 of these jackets that I have amassed over the last 35 years. I have really enjoyed wearing these jackets over the years, and at this point in my life, I have decided to sell off my whole collection. I selected only jackets that were in impeccable condition. My jackets have been stored in a cedar lined, cool storage space to prevent any damage from sunlight or insects. I have collected every color and design imaginable. You can be assured that my jackets are in beautiful condition. Please check back as I will post more over the next several months. It is guaranteed that you are going to receive admiring compliments whenever you wear this jacket. They are very bright and colorful jackets that make people smile when they see you wearing them.
