1939 World's Fair DC-3 Lamp with Uranium Glass

Description: c. 1990s; Billings Artworks - Ridgway, CO Art Deco-inspired commemorative World's Fair lamp. Limited edition redesign of the original World's Fair lamp created by Grammy Award designer John Billings in the style of the original 1930s molds, but with deeper recesses to allow for better detail. On top is a DC-3 type airplane with spinning propellers and a ball joint that allows for adjustment; both the plane and base are nickel-plated. This piece features the rare inclusion of a uranium glass Trylon and Perisphere with more pronounced relief graphics than the original castings due to the redesign. The base includes a three-way switch on the back to allow for multiple modes of illumination. Exhibits minor signs of wear including some tarnish and chips in the nickel plating. One propeller has fallen off, but is included. 14" W x 9" D x 15" H Please refer to photos regarding condition.
