This plate from 1939 features the charming scene of Ole Lockeye (or Ole Lukoie) The Sandman. As early as 1724 Ole lukoie was mentioned in a play by J.R. Pauli, but more popularly known because of Hans Christian Andersen's popular fairy tale where with his umbrella he can put children to sleep and make them have pleasant dreams.
