Description: 1937-D BU Buffalo Nickel - 3 Leg ErrorMY COMMENTS: THE GOOD NEWS: Nice Original Looking Better Grade Better Date Variety Coin, Great Color, Luster, and Super Eye Appeal. Full Strong Date & Mint Mark, Nice Rims. Nice detail in the Indian's Hair. Full Horn detail on the reverse. Nice Tail Detail. Note the Buffalo's head sometimes looks a little flat on these nickels. Nickel is a very hard metal and doesn't always strike up 100%. The flatness on the head is often mistaken for wear. Some dates never are found with crisp head details. This coin has a nice strike, with nice details in the head. Please bid with confidence because I stand behind what I sell. This is the hard to find 3 LEG BUFFALO NICKEL. This came to exist when a mint worker was polishing the coin die and he went overboard polishing the leg right off the die. Die markers to look for on a genuine 37-D is the far right hind leg has a moth eaten appearance, and under the buffalo there are raised portions of metal. On mid-grade & lower grade coins the raised metal wears away, but there is a trace of this on this coin. Please bid with confidence because I stand behind what I sell. THE BAD NEWS: Not real bad, but has an old scratch on the reverse across the buffalo. Sometimes things like this can be expected because these coins were used as real money long ago.
